The second meeting East European group of experts on pediatric palliative care was held in Berlin on 17-18 February 2017. (The first meeting was held by format Skype Conference in November 2016).
This expert group established to lobby and spread the standards of the International Network of pediatric palliative care ICPCN.
The group includes experts from different countries:
- Prof. Julia Downing from Britain, CEO ICPCN;
- Sabine Kraft, Germany, director of the National Association of Children's hospices in Germany, the German head of ICPCN;
- Anda Jansone, Latvia;
- Delia Birtar, Romania;
- Dagmar Herrmannova, Czech Republic;
- Anna Gorchakov, Belarus;
Lyudmila Andriyishyn - Head of outbound / advisory department of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Center of Palliative Care; Chief Specialist Palliative Care Department of Health Regional State Administration represents Ukraine.
The meeting program was intense and interesting. On the first day we worked in a children's hospice in Leipzig, the second day we spent in discussions, exchange of experience between countries, the definition of needs, plans and directions of future work East European Pediatric Palliative Care Expert Group.
